Abstract
Based on the analysis of complex problems of the forest development in Siberia, a system of measures is proposed to overcome its crisis. It is proved that ignoring environmental and economic accessibility of forest resources will inevitably resume the practice of tree felling exceeding the annually calculated wood-cutting area in coniferous forestries. Some approaches are proposed to assess the ecological role of forests in Siberia.
