Abstract
Summary The analgesic efficacy and pharmakokinetics of paracetamol and diclofenac are similar. We have studied the pain reported by patients and the acceptability of the modes of analgesia of 31 paediatric patients undergoing appendicectomy. No significant difference in pain scores or need for rescue analgesia was found. The oral route was preferred.
