Abstract
Nowadays, information about a false missile launch can be fatal in the context of a nuclear war. The idea of creating a Joint Center for the Exchange of Data from Early Warning Systems and Notifications of Missile Launches, JDEC isn’t new, however, it has not yet been properly implemented. Today, such Center on the NATO territory is capable to solve a number of urgent tasks: firstly, the exchange of information on the upcoming launches of ballistic missiles by states or non-state organizations, secondly, the exchange of information Early Warning Systems and Notifications of Missile Launches and the creation of a unified information database, thirdly, prompt response to ambiguous signals / "false signals" from the early warning system, and fourthly, bringing information about launches, as well as assessing their possible consequences, to the relevant security control authorities. The main goal of creating Joint Center is to reduce the risk of nuclear war.
