Objective: to find out the needs of the residents and professionals in a socio-health care home to initiate the implementation of the PCA model. Methodology: Cross-sectional and descriptive study, carried out in the Cervantes Centre for the Elderly in Caceres. The participants were 60 residents, 83 nursing home workers and 179 people from the general population, who filled in questionnaires created ad hoc. The participants were volunteers and had the approval of the Centre's management. Results: 73% of the residents considered their stay at the center to be good or very good, although they all stated that the center needed to be modernized. Most of the workers (77.1%) considered that developing the care activity under the PCA model would be positive or very positive. Conclusions: Our study suggests that residents want care and fundamental elements of the PCA model. For their part, the professionals view positively the improvements in care that could result from the change of model.
