Abstract
Aim: Proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9) regulates the amount of LDL receptors and plasma cholesterol concentrations, it’s new target for lipid lowering therapy and perspective biomarker for predicting cardiovascular events based on some resent data. The aim was to investigate the association of the PCSK9 protein with lipid parameters, carotid artery intima-media thickness in patients with familial hypercholesterolemia (FH).
