Abstract

Archaeological study of underground quarries in Normandy should help know better extraction techniques in the Middle Ages. The suggested method calls for the observations of all is still visible in an underground quarry. Corelations with other sites and other written sources helps suggest dates. Here follows an exemple of study of an medieval underground quarry at Hérouville Saint-Clair (Calvados).
