Abstract
Last month, the Biden administration released the proposed budget for FY 2022, which runs from Oct. 1, 2021, to Sept. 30, 2022. Funding levels include, as expected, additions for the Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment block grant (SAPT BG), to $3.5 billion (an additional $1.65 billion compared to $1.858 billion in FY 2021 regular appropriation). The SAPT BG has received under $2 billion for decades. The SAPT BG is distributed to the states.
