Abstract

We investigated properties of the solutions of polyarylates containing aromatic and long aliphatic side groups at the central carbon atom of the bisphenol. substitution of an aromatic group by an aliphatic chain increases the thermodynamic rigidity of the polyarylate. The effect of a solvent on the rigidity of diphilic comb-like polymers is revealed.
