Abstract

Polycrystalline PbZrO3-PbTiO3 + 2.5mol% La2CO3 was prepared by hot pressing. The electrical and electromechanical properties of grain-oriented samples were measured. The permittivity and thermally stimulated current anisotropies between the parallel and perpendicular direction to the hot pressing axis were studied. The perpendicular sample shows a greater electromechanical coupling factor than that of the parallel sample. On the other hand, the dielectric losses are greater in the second case. These anisotropies are higher than those of other ferroelectric ceramics reported using the same preparation technique.
