Abstract

This paper is devoted to the development of microwave antennas. Here, the wire media (WM) as a modifier is proposed and considered. The usage of WM allows radiating the electromagnetic (EM) waves at the frequencies non-corresponded the resonance frequencies of the modified antennas. The radiation patterns, gain and S-parameters of such constructions were investigated. The simulation studying has shown the effective narrowband radiation of evanescent EM waves and width angles of radiation patterns. The experimental investigation has proven the simulation one. Moreover, the paper demonstrates the impact of the overlapping of WM and source as well as filling factor on EM wave radiation.
