Abstract
Abstract Prompt gamma activation analysis is a powerful method, but it is not yet well enough known in the nuclear data community. For this reason, we describe the PGAA measurement and data evaluation processes, as well as the energy and spatial distribution measurements on our cold neutron beam at the PGAA-NIPS facilities of the Budapest Research Reactor. We emphasize that the strong spatial inhomogeneity of the neutron beam puts a constraint on the samples to be analysed if it is important to obtain accurate quantitative measurement results. Finally, an overview of our recent experiments is given.
