Abstract
India is the leading country in the world in the domain of milk production and consumption. The success and growth of dairy sector is directly depended on the availability of fodder crops in terms of its quantity and quality. India and other developing countries are more susceptible and have poor resilience power to climate change then the developed nations. Climate change produces different environmental stresses on forage crops that subsequently negatively affect the development, growth, and production of forage crops. There are several constraints that are faced by forage crop growers that affects its production, availability, and adoption of improved production practices. By keeping all such facts in mind in this chapter a realistic and pragmatic extension strategies are proposed for promoting forage crops and their climate resilient cultivation technologies among the stakeholders particularly the dairy farmers.
