Abstract

A 5-week-old Chinese–Southeast Asian girl presented to the clinic for a routine follow-up. She is the second child of nonconsanguineous parents and was born at 37 weeks gestation weighing 2.6 kg. During the follow-up visit, she weighed 3.7 kg (10th percentile) and measured 51.0 cm (10th percentile) in length. Her head circumference was 34.6 cm (3rd–10th percentile). She had a satisfactory weight gain of 40 g daily after the first week of life. Her physical examination was normal except for significant jaundice and an umbilical hernia (Fig. 1).
