Abstract

The extended random phase approximation (ERPA) theory is treated within a framework of a projection method. The method is used to calculate the main contributions to the nuclear response in electron-scattering reactions. Analytical expressions in nuclear matter for the longitudinal and transverse response in quasi-elastic (e,e′) reactions are shown. Numerical results for these contributions for 48Ca at momentum transfer q = 410 MeV/c were performed.
