Abstract
Subject. The article addresses the compliance with the principles of strategic planning at the federal level. Objectives. The study aims to assess the quality of project activities in the energy sector in the light of new economic sanctions. Methods. The study rests on the comparative and logical analysis. Results. The paper established that the documents forming the basis of strategic planning system are not able to act as an effective tool for structural modernization and technological sovereignty of the fuel and energy complex of Russia. Conclusions. Each document discussed in the article must be fully consistent with the key principles of strategic planning.
