Abstract

The China Fusion Engineering Test Reactor (CFETR) is the next magnetic confinement fusion device in China’s roadmap for realizing commercial fusion energy, aiming to bridge the gaps between the experimental reactor and the demonstration reactor DEMO. As a key subsystem of utilizing fusion power, the CFETR cryogenic system is required to create and maintain low temperature operation conditions for superconducting magnets, CP system and other users. The preliminary engineering design of the CFETR cryogenic system has been proposed. The system has a capacity of 125 kW@4.5 K, 1700 kW@80 K, 6 kW@15 K and 2.5 kW@1.8 K (optional). The dimension of cryodistirbution system has been carried with the length of 85.5 m, width of 82.9 m and height of 40.2 m. The cryogenic control system is based on the CODAC and controlled by PLC.
