Abstract

Objective: To present the set of actions of the area of ​​teaching, research and extension of two groups of the Program of Tutorial Education (PET), acting in the area of ​​Physical Education. Methodology: This is an experience report on the activities of PET-Biomechanics and PET-Physical Education, between the years 2011-2019, in the city of Petrolina-PE, in the Sertao region of Pernambuco. These teams are interdisciplinary, composed of 12 fellow scholars, as well as volunteers, all under the coordination of a tutor. Results and discussion: It was verified that the PET groups have contributed significantly to the indissociability between teaching, research and extension, qualifying the training of future Physical Education teachers in the region. Over the years, the teams have developed different tools, which provide the exchange of knowledge with the local community and, therefore, the development of new teaching methodologies, in an interdisciplinary character. Conclusion: Based on the teaching, research and extension triad the actions of the PET groups present great potential to the academic formation, because they inform and instrumentalize the students about relevant topics in the area of Physical Education, Health and Education. In addition, the actions helped the petianos in the elaboration and fixation of the knowledge of classroom, besides the development of principles of citizenship.
