The book of the prophet Amos calls attention to the defense of the poor and presents a political and religious power structure that did not measure any efforts to plan corrupt and violent methods in order to exploit and expropriate the weakest. The present article intends to address who these poor are, who the perpetrators of injustice are, and how the prophet Amos exercised his prophetism in denouncing the iniquities that were aimed at profit.
