Abstract
The article is devoted to the issue of initial vocational training of future teachers in the context of Higher Education. The synthesis of the characteristics of the student as a subject of the educational process according to different authors, which are necessary for the formation of a modern specialist, is presented. The results of the empirical study are illustrated. The results demonstrate the appreciations of the characteristics of the student as a subject offered by students and teaching staff.
