Abstract

After complete migration of primordial germ cells (PGCs) into the genital ridges by E13.5 in mice, they undergo a gender-specific fate: Male and female PGCs undergo mitotic arrest and meiosis, respectively. However, differentiation of PGCs on a gender-specific basis remained poorly understood. The aim of this study was to gain further insight into the gender-specific features of PGCs in mice.
