Abstract

The scientific and didactic activity of the late historian Alexandru Moșanu is evoked in the context of his prolific political and public activity, on the occasion of his 90th anniversary. One of the leaders of the National Revival Movement, Alexandru Moșanu had a decisive contribution in the fight for the officialization of the Romanian language and the Latin alphabet, in the drafting of the Declaration of Independence of the Republic of Moldova, the decreeing of the statehood symbols of the young state, counteracting the consequences of the Ribbentrop-Molotov Pact. He pleaded for the rehabilitation of the historical truth about Romanian unity and educated generations of young historians in that spirit.
