Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to develop a value stream map for a compressor assembly company in Emerson Climate Technologies, India Ltd. Atit. The main aim is to identify, analyze and eliminate waste in the shop floor which is any activity that does not add value to their final product, in the production and assembly process. Value Stream Mapping has the one of the too which status of finding waste in manufacturing, production, assembly and business processes by identifying, control and removing or streamlining non-value-adding steps and processes. The tool helps to identify the current flow of material and information in processes for a family of products, highlighting the opportunities for improvement that will most significantly impact the overall production and assembly system. VSM application will help to identify a current situation diagnostic of enterprise logistic and supply chain, so detect the problems and linked to the process and finally chose the wastes lean thinking in the production techniques to eliminate and control those wastes. VSM ends with the future state showing the proposed improvements in the process by reducing wastage the proportion of value adding time in the whole process rises and the process throughput speed is increased.
