Cummings is a professor of management and organization at the Graduate School of Business Administration, University of Southern California. From 1970 to 1976 he was on the faculty of the organizational behavior department at Case Western Reserve University. He received his Ph.D. in socio-technical systems from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1970. Since then he has consulted and done research on designing high-performing organizations, planned organizational change, and transorganizational systems. He has written twelve books and over 40 scholarly articles on these topics, and is Associate Editor of the Journal of Organizational Behavior, Past-Chairman of the Organization Development Division of the Academy of Management, and Past-President of the Western Academy of Management.Search for more papers by this author Thomas G.
