Abstract
Modern agriculture faces challenges such as loss of soil fertility fluctuating climatic factors and increase in pathogen and pest attacks. The sustainability and environmental safety in agriculture production needs eco-friendly approach like use of biofertilizers, bio pesticide and green manuring etc. The multiple beneficial effects of microbial inoculants apart of nitrogen fixation needs further research and their use in modern agriculture. This review summarises the plant growth substances related research and its benefits from asymbiotic bacteria.
