Abstract
As a method of producing internal threads in parts from sintered materials whose mechanical properties are adequate to permit plastic deformation, pressure forming is superior to orthodox tapping. 2. Pressure forming ensures considerably longer tool life. 3. The mechanical strength of pressure-formed threads is some 20% higher than that of machined threads. 4. Pressure forming slightly improves, by about one class, the finish of thread surfaces.
