Abstract

Ethylene production by carrot discs inoculated with Agrobacterium rhizogenes strains A4, 15834, K47, TR105, D2 and A4R1 was compared to carrot discs inoculated with Agrobacterium tumefaciens strains B6, C58 and NT1. The A. rhizogenes inoculated discs produced 2–3 times as much ethylene over a 24 day period as did the A. tumefaciens inoculated discs.
