Abstract
Product-Service System (PSS) is a concept that combines products and services to meet specific customer needs. It is an approach that allows enterprises to build a competitive advantage and supports sustainable development. In the area of PSS design and industrial practice, there are still few examples of using this concept in the plastics processing industry (PPI). The aim of this paper is to develop a conceptual model of the PSS for this industry. The example presented in the paper was developed during workshops at a plastics processing plant (PPP). Based on the real problems, needs, and service expectations of the plant, the conceptual PSS model aims to highlight significant issues. The created PSS model provides the PPP with a complete production unit consisting of machinery and tools, along with support in the form of services that eliminate production problems, improve production efficiency, minimize negative environmental impact, and extend the life cycle of machines and tools. The limitation of the conducted research is the scope of participants - one PPP and its employees, which may lead to omitted aspects important for the analyzed sector.
