Abstract
The method of the determination of the optimal parameters of coupling curves in case allocation of the yard retarder position in the straight track section behind the main coupling curve is given in this article. The criterion of optimality is the minimum of the distance between the wisp switch and yard retarder position. Using this method during design and reconstruction of the sorting humps allows to reduce the length of the neck and thus to increase the length of sorting tracks and to improve the operating benefits of sorting equipments.
