Abstract

Carbon dioxide (CO2) is an important feedstock for essential chemicals synthesis, but its transformation into biological macromolecules remains challenging. In a recent issue of <i>Science</i>, Ma et al. integrated chemical and enzymatic catalysis to convert CO2 into starch, a vital source of calories and feedstock in industry, with significantly higher efficiency than plants.
