Abstract

The present invention relates to a process for the hydroxylation of phenols and phenol ethers using hydrogen peroxide. More precisely it consists of a process for the hydroxylation of phenols and phenol ethers, and preferably of phenol, using hydrogen peroxide, characterised in that the reaction is conducted in the presence of an effective quantity of a zeolite of MFI structure based on silicon oxide and germanium oxide and having the general formula: Si(96-x).GexO192 (II)
