Abstract

We are pleased to welcome you to the 6th ACM Workshop on Digital Identity Management -- DIM'10. DIM'10 Workshop brings together academia and industry to explore all aspects of identity management. Identity management is an endeavor to make identities available to humans, services, and systems in a secure and privacy-protecting manner. As exemplified in Cloud Computing, ICTenabled infrastructures have a crucial role in global collaboration for social and economic advancement. Such infrastructures must incorporate identity management capabilities that allow individuals and organizations to identify and trust each other over networks. They need to be scalable and reliable, while striking the best balance between usability, security, and privacy. The call for papers attracted 16 submissions from Asia, Europe, and North America. The program committee accepted 5 regular and 3 short papers that cover a wide range of topics, including privacy, novel applications, empirical study, identity frameworks, and novel tools. The program also portraits various facets of digital identity management, such as foreseeing researches, standardizations, and analysis of services in practice. The workshop features a keynote talk on "Privacy-Enhanced Access Control in PrimeLife" by Gregory Neven. PrimeLife is one of the most important EU research projects in the areas of identity management and privacy. We hope that the proceedings will serve as a valuable resource for researchers and practitioners in the identity management field.
