Abstract

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the situation of the societies of many countries, including Poland, is very large and concerns, in particular, the increase in the number of deaths, deteriorating health of citizens, bankruptcies of many companies, but also the change from the form of residential to remote education. The new situation, unprecedented so far, forced parents/guardians of children to quickly adapt home conditions to the requirements of remote learning. The existing forms of childcare also required reorganization. Unfortunately, the necessity to combine the professional duties of parents/guardians with the new reality of remote learning revealed many problems and difficult situations. In connection with the above, research was done to diagnose the problems of parents/guardians that they had to deal with during remote education and to learn about their expectations. The research covered parents/guardians of early school age children living in the poviats of Biała Podlaska, Włodawa and Parczew. The results of the research showed that some parents had difficulties in organizing care for their children during remote education, which prompts not only reflection but also searching for new solutions in this field.
