Abstract

Objective To investigate obstetric and gynecological care and effective method of classroom teaching and promoting teaching reform of maternity care.Methods Classes 2,3,4 of the year 2008 (a total of 145 students) in nursing school as the experimental group using problem-solving teaching method;Classes 5,6, 7 (a total of 152) for the control group studying in the traditional way. The questionnaires and final exams are designed for the implementation.Results The final exams and the questionnaire results showed a statistically significant difference between the experimental and control groups.ConclusionsThe problem-solving methods could stimulate students' interests in learning,promote effective communication among them, foster students' spirit of communication and collaboration,and improve their abilities in analyzing and solving problems so as to improve their academic performance.
