Abstract

Objective To observe the validity and feasibility of standardized patient applied to clinical practice in obstetrics and gynecology teaching. Methods Selected 245 students who are 2009 and 2010 undergraduates in Jinzhou Medical University, and divided them into the experimental group and the control group. The experimental group were offered standardized patient teaching method, while the control group were taught with traditional teaching method. Examination and questionnaire were used to evaluate the teaching effectiveness of the two groups. Results The scores of experimental group are higher than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The result of the questionnaire showed that 90.0% students of experimental group hold a positive attitude for SP teaching method. Conclusions SP teaching method can improve students’practical ability of obstetrics and gynecology, which is worth discussing and applying in clinical teaching.
