Abstract

The article examines the problems of the development of the comedy genre in the theatrical art of Dagestan in the last decades of the XX century. Critically analyzing the state of the genre and drama, noting important trends and key stage works, the author traces the close connection of the comedy genre with folklore origins, and also comes to the conclusion that, despite the complexity and ambiguity of the historical period under study, 1970–1990, each of the national theaters of Dagestan represented to the viewer bright and interesting samples of the repertoire.
