Abstract

This article outlines the problem of waste accumulation, as well as the related environmental consequences in Ukraine due to the mismatch between waste generation and disposal capacities. The article deals with current problems of waste management in Ukraine. An analysis of the current state and readiness of the existing infrastructure for effective waste management was carried out. The essence of the economic and legal mechanisms of waste management within the framework of the system approach is determined. The authors considered modern methods of waste management. The analysis of legal norms involves the improvement of the main areas of the system. Current problems of waste management in Ukraine are systematized, as well as the essence of economic and legal mechanisms of waste management. Grounded priority directions for optimization of the strategy and implementation of recycling in the field of waste management. The article analyzes and classifies methods in the field of waste management, and also suggests considering a comprehensive approach. The main problems of the sphere of waste processing in Ukraine are highlighted through the prism of economic, social, and legal nature. An objective assessment of the real state of waste processing in Ukraine is given, as well as options for solving the problem of accumulation and processing of this waste are offered.
