Abstract
The article discusses the main approaches to the problem of balancing in Russian law. A distinction is made between the concept developed by the Russian courts and the German Saldotheorie. Particular attention is paid to the approach to balancing as an automatic set-off; the presence of the will to set-off in the will to withdraw from contract is substantiated.
