Abstract

The development of Soviet society at its present stage is characterized by new qualitative changes in all aspects of socioeconomic life. In the first place this involves a completely new and large scale of production. Tremendous economic might has been created, based on ramified industry and developed socialist agriculture, advanced science, skilled cadres of workers, professionals and paraprofessionals, and management executives. All this makes possible comprehensive development of the economy, provision for the country's defense, and on the basis thereof, solution of multifaceted tasks in further raising the standard of living of the Soviet people. Problems of feeding the population hold an important place in the sphere of raising the people's level of well-being.
