Abstract
The energy system of Ukraine includes power transmission lines of various capacities and generating facilities, the most complex of which are nuclear power plants. The article examines aspects of the development of nuclear energy under the circumstances that have developed in Ukraine today. Ukraine has the largest reserves of uranium ores in Europe and suitable conditions for their use. Currently, the production volumes of fuel for nuclear power plants are insufficient for their development; we do not have our own production of heat-separating elements. In addition, the military industry of Ukraine needs new types of weapons and modern materials based on substances from the enrichment of uranium ore.
