Abstract

The intent of this research paper is to examine, develop, and describe the use of a purposed Structured Analysis methodology referred to as Probable Event Analysis (PEA) in criminal defense investigations. PEA is intended to fulfill a portion of the existing void found in the arena of actionable criminal defense analytical methodologies. This methodology is meant for use at the field investigation level as a diagnostic instrument. PEA does not replace other diagnostic methodologies used to assess the overall alleged crime, but the method does strengthen these diagnostic methodologies through a comparative approach of identifying evidence.
