Abstract
This research paper is intended to explore and create knowledge in the use of the method of Analysis of Competing Hypotheses (ACH) during criminal defense investigations. ACH is evaluated from the aspect of theory and use. A theoretical example of a murder is used to explore the use of ACH, and demonstrate the utility of ACH during criminal defense. In conclusion, specific areas for further research are recommended.
