Abstract

A probabilistic evaluation is presented for the viability and remaining working life for safe operation of equipment that has long been used in media containing hydrogen sulfide. The method is given for estimating the probability of failure and the viability period for damaged equipment. Examples are presented of analyzing damage, estimating failure probability, and evaluating viability periods for damaged equipment components. The results allow one to determine the conditions for further use and also measures to maintain damaged equipment components in the working state during the remaining working life for safe operation.
