Abstract

An improved calculation method for the strength reliability of surface-hardened cylindrical gears, based on determining the probability of safe operation of the gear is presented in the paper. The calculation of probability of fault-free operation according to the criterion of depth contact endurance is implemented and the tools of non-parametric statistics are applied. When calculating contact stresses, the twist angle caused by deformations of the shafts gear is taken into account. The reliability of the toothed wheel gear was evaluated using the developed technique.
