Abstract

Lack of accurate characterisation for the amplitude decay constant on the meteor burst channel makes most existing analytical methods of systems on this channel approximate. It is shown that the probability density function of the amplitude decay constant can be approximated by the log-normal density. An expression for the density of the burst duration is also given. These results will allow for a more in depth analysis of meteor burst communication systems.
