Abstract

Probabilistic analysis of dynamic short-circuit stresses of rigid bus-bars and support insulators with autoreclosure taken into account is presented in this paper. Stress distributions of equipment determined by simulation Monte Carlo method at the 110 kV voltage level are shown. Significance of the bus-bars protection and its impact on rigid bus-bars and support insulators have been determined. It was found out that the equipment under analysis may be affected by stresses greater than the maximum possible which may occur while transient fault. However, the probability of occurence of dynamic equipment stresses close to the maximum possible value is very small and lies within the range 10-6–10-5.
