Abstract

One of our department's annual spring rituals is to interview our best senior majors and decide which (if any) will graduate with departmental distinction. Prior to the interview, students are required to submit a portfolio of term papers written in their sociology courses along with a short autobiographical statement tracing the development of their sociological development. This spring three seniors were seeking the departmental honor. In the course of our interviews we asked each of these students to describe the sociological perspective.
