Prioritization of radiological accident scenarios during decommissioning of nuclear power plants by risk matrix and AHP method

Abstract

As part of the safety evaluation during the decommissioning process of Kori Unit 1, candidate scenarios were selected using the risk matrix method. Since Korea has no experience in dismantling commercial nuclear power plants, systematic research on how to select accident scenarios in risk assessment is performed. In this paper, the priority of 11 candidate scenarios selected by the risk matrix method is determined using the AHP method to facilitate the selection of additional scenarios.
