Abstract

The article deals with the issues of the spatial organization of the Arctic mineral resource centers (MSC). The key factors restraining the development of MSCs, as well as the prerequisites for their organization in the Arctic zone, are highlighted. A methodological approach is proposed for assessing the economic efficiency of the development of subsoil plots that form the Arctic MSC, in order to select the priority investment objects. A feature of the methodology is the use of a multicriteria approach. The object of the study was a group of sections of the Khatanga-Lenskaya oil and gas accumulation zone in the north of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). As a result, the sites were ranked according to two criteria, which made it possible to establish the most investment attractive ones. The authors noted that the feasibility of organizing new Arctic MSCs is related to the geopolitical goals of the development of the northern territories, and they also highlight the positive effects at the level of the state and subsoil companies.
