Abstract

Perilestidae are insects of the order Odonata, in the Neotropical region the family comprises 19 species. For Brazil, it is confirmed by the time of occurrence of 12 species, being, in many Brazilian states there are no family records yet. The present paper reports the first occurrence recordo of Perilestidae ( Perilestes gracillimus Kennedy, 1941) to the state of Amapa, Brazil. One specimen was collected in a forest environment on the banks of the Cajari River (0°34'09.7S 52°10'33.5W) in the month of december 2019. The area is located in the municipality of Laranjal do Jari, which is located south of the state of Amapa. The finding further expands the distribution of the Perilestidae family in Brazil. keywords: Amazon; diversity; dragonflies.
