Abstract
In this study, we present the first record of Cerdocyon thous for the southwest state of Para. This note also expands the known geographic distribution of this species. This record is based on the finding of a couple of species of fortuitously close to the urban area of the municipality of Uruara, Para. Keywords: crab-eating fox; carnivores; wild dogs.

Summary
We present the first record of Cerdocyon thous for the southwest state of Para. A distribuição de C. thous na Amazônia pode estar em ampliação devido à conversão da floresta em pastagens em larga escala (COURTENAY; MAFFEI, 2004). Apesar de sua ampla distribuição geográfica, este é o primeiro estudo que relata a distribuição geográfica da espécie C. thous para a região sudoeste do estado do Pará.
